ABOUT

The Brass Lantern Inn Stowe Vermont is brimming with original antique details yet is coupled with the comfort and amenities expected of today. Located just ½ mile from the center of town and just 12 minutes by car to the base of Stowe Mountain Resort, the Brass Lantern Inn is a perfect location. Ideal for those who desire town activities along with a country experience. To our delight, guests continually describe the Inn as, "delightful, charming, friendly, and warm". As an intimately scaled Bed & Breakfast you can expect a wealth of personal attention..... something you wont find at a large resort. The Inn is graced with nine charming and well appointed guestrooms (each with a private ensuite bath) which are appropriately named after the expansive mountains and peaks of the Green Mountain Range in Vermont. Each room showcases gleaming antique wide plank floors and are individually decorated with carefully selected antique furnishings, country quilts, and accessories. All rooms are non-smoking, as is the entire inn. Individual heat and air conditioning are provided seasonally. Your room rate includes a Vermont Fresh breakfast each morning of your stay. Savor select offerings such as Belgian waffles with your choice of toppings, raspberries and whipped cream/maple blueberry sauce, Quiche Brass Lantern w/ swiss cheese, spinach, scallions and applewood smoked bacon. The Brass Lantern Inn is an ideal home base for exploring the area. Our Inn is located just outside of the village making it a convenient starting point when venturing out to the days activity. In the warmer months hiking through Smugglers Notch is popular among our guests, as is kayaking and bicycling. All offer a beautiful scenic tour of the gorgeous Vermont countryside at a comfortable, leisurely pace. Also popular is horse back riding, and carriage/wagon rides. For a breathtaking aerial view of the area and mountains, why not try our new Zip Line Tour or a glider airplane ride. The Zip Line Tour glides through the forests and Green Mountains soaring downwards from 4,500 feet. An airplane glider provides a serene view with a smooth and graceful ride on silent wings. In the winter months, how about snowshoeing? Many of our hiking trails of the summer are even more fabulous during the winter. The views are in many areas even more magnificent as you can see through the bare trees. One of our favorite snowshoeing activities is to hike out to Moss Glen Falls. Another great snowshoe trip is one lead by Umiak Outfitters where you hike from Waterbury Reservoir to the Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream Factory where you conclude the trip with a tour of the factory and of course sample the latest ice cream flavor of the day!
